The employees from ACE Life Vietnam and ACE Non-Life Vietnam last week volunteered at a soup kitchen programme on the Day of Service occasion to serve 1,000 free meals for the poor including underprivileged children and their relatives in Children’s Hospital Nº 2.

The employees also distributed over 200 gifts to help bring cheer to the disadvantaged children.

ACE’s philanthropic activities focus on supporting the local communities in which it lives and works.

In the spirit of this corporate philanthropy, its employees across 11 Asia Pacific markets held their respective ‘Day of Service’ during a designated week of the year.

They planned, organised, and partnered with their local charities and executed various community outreach activities in line with ACE’s over-arching philanthropic theme of education, poverty and health, and the environment.

A regional initiative inaugurated in 2012, the ‘Day of Service’ provides an opportunity for all employees to rally together and dedicate a small part of their time to local community projects.

According to chairman and country president of ACE Life Vietnam Lam Hai Tuan and country president & general director of ACE Non-Life Vietnam Christopher C. Twomey, their support for charitable activities at Children’s Hospital Nº 2 was a noble way to contribute to the community.

The soup kitchen programme is a meaningful and practical initiative to help the poor reduce the burden of cost during their children’s medical treatment at the hospital.  It was a worthwhile and memorable charity activity for all ACE employees, said the executives.

Apart from delivering the free meals, the employees also dedicated their time to talk, interact with and spend quality time with the children to bring them courage, happiness and joy.  They hope these outreach activities can be expanded in the future to support more underprivileged people.
