As sustainability developments are accelerated in the construction industry to address environmental requirements, a goal was set for the event to uncover creative solutions for building ecological urban cities more sustainably. During the webinar, key ideas and experiences were exchanged by top-notch experts. The discussion shed light on how to reach environmental goals, efficiently use energy, and reduce human impact on the environment, amongst other topics.

Dr. Arch. Phan Dang Son, chairman of the Vietnam Association of Architects said, “There is a growing demand for developing green and ecological urban cities in Vietnam. Supporting this ambition is a part of our commitment announced in 2012. We have partnered with Dulux Professional from AkzoNobel to organise this webinar to connect experts in the field under a shared target to figure out feasible solutions in terms of design, architecture, materials. Ultimately, we want to accelerate the development progress of ecological urban cities in Vietnam."

“It is an inevitable trend to build ecological urban cities, especially in the next years as environmental issues have become more pressing as evident from the discussions at COP26. Dulux Professional from AkzoNobel has made investments in research to produce innovative paints and coatings with sustainable features for project channels, as well as made commitments to the development of ecological urban cities. Through this webinar, we hope to create a forum for experts to share their experiences and perspectives, from which we could achieve essential solutions for Vietnam’s urban cities,” said MyLan Nguyen, general director of the Decorative Paints division at AkzoNobel Vietnam.

Throughout the webinar, Dulux Professional introduced its sustainable products and services as well as sustainable business operation process and other support for customers in not only the paints and coatings industry but also for the construction and real estate sector. AkzoNobel is the first paints and coatings company to receive SBTi approval and the company’s efforts have also been recognised by the Terra Carta Seal, awarded by British Prince Charles of Wales.

AkzoNobel’s achievements are also validated by rating company Sustainalytics, EcoVadis, MSCI, Vigeo Eiris, Corporate Knights, and others.

Across Vietnam, there are 755 cities, including the two metropolises Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Most of these cities aim for a low impact on the natural environment in the development process in the long term, which requires creative ideas from multiple fields of architecture, materials, and others sectors.
