The VSIP Binh Duong firefighting team was rewarded for the rescue of a father and a daughter who nearly drowned at the drainage system during a downpour |
Earlier, in the afternoon of May 29, the VSIP II – Binh Duong firefighting team (Hoa Phu ward, Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong) was informed by Tran Van Tien (security guard of VSIP II) that a man (Vuong Thanh Tung, 37) and a girl (Vuong Thi Kim Anh, 13) were being trapped under the drainage system of the industrial park and were in danger of being swept away by the water.
“When they arrived at the scene, the water flowed very hard and the water reached up to their necks. They were trying to cling to the wall of the sewer and the child was screaming in panic. The situation was extremely dangerous, and we had to act quickly to bring the father and daughter to safety,” Vu Dinh Nha, head of the Fire Protection Team of VSIP II – Binh Duong shared.
It is reported that the father and his daughter had been fishing in the area when the rain came, so they ran into the drainage system for shelter. When the rain unexpectedly turned even heavier, the water began to pour in, trapping them.
