Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh told the on-going APEC CEO Summit 2017, which will be rounded off later today, that all global CEOs should come to Vietnam to invest and do business.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you, the APEC CEOs, for your strong partnership and commitment to your business in Vietnam, and to our shared economic and strategic goals. When you invest in Vietnam, everyone wins,” Minh told thousands of CEOs at the summit.

The Asia-Pacific business community has been playing a pivotal role in Vietnam’s economic development. APEC CEOs represent Vietnam’s largest foreign investors and trading partners and are considered as credible policy advisors to country officials. “We appreciate your strong support, sharing, and cooperation in the last 30 years of our economic reform,” Minh said.

During the past few days, APEC CEOs listened to the remarks of Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang at the opening of the APEC CEO Summit and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Vietnam Business Summit.

“I am here to once again reaffirm the strong commitment of the Vietnamese government to ensure an open, transparent, and fair environment for your businesses in Vietnam, and we wish you continued success,” Minh stressed.

The APEC CEO Summit is taking place at a significant moment for APEC economies and the Asia-Pacific region alike, when the regional and global landscape is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes. The APEC, more than ever, continues to uphold its leading role in creating new drivers for economic growth and integration.

“I am very glad to see that the APEC CEO Summit this year has one of the largest turn-outs and is overflowing with interest. Your presence here shows that the APEC CEO Summit has become a landmark event of the business community across the Asia-Pacific, the most dynamic region in the world,” the deputy prime minister stated. “It is such a meaningful and unique platform that brings together the top regional CEOs to share diverse thoughts and perspectives.”

At this very summit, many useful suggestions, ideas, and solutions for growth, co-operation, and connectivity from the business community have been submitted, making direct contributions to the region’s connectivity, freer flows of goods and services, and, above all, to the sustainable development and prosperity of the region, Minh added.
