RSM Vietnam, formerly DTL, was founded in July 2001 by a group of certified public auditors and accredited consultants who had worked in auditing and consultancy since the very first days of the industry in Vietnam.

During these times, Vietnam’s international economic integration was accelerated and the market economy was applied. With accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2007, Vietnam had a great chance to work with leading markets and anchored the domestic reforms on strong external commitments. This was deemed important as further trade liberalisation and global integration helped Vietnam to boost exports and attract foreign direct investment.

In the context of boosting investment and development with many changes in regulations and policies, RSM Vietnam was born to capitalise on the opportunities in the new era. The company possessed valuable resources to confidently provide professional services requiring full understanding of Vietnam’s business climate and with international-quality standards.

With these advantages, RSM Vietnam has constantly improved and expanded its business as well as enhanced its expertise and service quality to meet the high demands of corporate clients. In 2008, RSM Vietnam opened its second office in Hanoi after securing its first in Ho Chi Minh City. In a short time the Hanoi office grew impressively, which brought great contributions to the success and development of RSM Vietnam.

In 2012, RSM Vietnam became an official member of the RSM network, which is ranked among the top six global accounting networks with 820 offices in 120 countries and more than 48,000 employees and 3,750 partners around the world.

This year, RSM Vietnam opened another office in the central city of Danang with a view to tapping into the central region and contribute to local economic development. The three offices with over 400 professional specialists nationally have marked RSM Vietnam’s 20-year journey of growth and development.

Leveraging its global network and local experience, the company has strengthened its position in the market as well as committed to accompany and support mid-tier businesses to grow and achieve goals through audit, tax, advisory, and outsourcing services.

With the firm’s lifelong purpose of delivering its message, “the power of being understood”, to its clients, colleagues, and communities, for 20 years RSM Vietnam has constantly built strong relationships with its corporate clients based on deep collaboration, understanding, ideas, and insights into what matters most to businesses.

The firm’s expertise and service quality have been recognised by both national and regional business communities through several awards. RSM Vietnam was awarded the Outstanding Advisory Firm award at the Vietnam M&A Forum in 2019 and 2020, while the company was also nominated as the Vietnam Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year and the Asia Tax Compliance and Reporting Firm of the Year at ITR Asia Tax Awards 2020.

“The past year has been difficult with many challenges but also provided RSM Vietnam with new opportunities to develop its operations,” said Dang Xuan Canh, managing partner of RSM Vietnam.

Despite the impacts of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, RSM Vietnam has achieved revenues of about VND160 billion ($6.95 million) and remained among the top eight auditing firms in Vietnam in 2020. RSM Vietnam’s accumulative revenue for 20 years has reached over VND1 trillion ($43.47 million).

“Vietnam has been an attractive investment destination for many countries recently,” said Le Khanh Lam, chairman of RSM Vietnam, “With our business expansion and digital transformation strategy, we see this is as an opportunity to thrive and revive the market.”

With the opening of the Danang office in the second quarter of this year, RSM Vietnam once again has demonstrated its burning ambition to expand its business and accelerate growth by applying digital transformation practices as well as leveraging the firm’s global network and local professional service experience.
