Honouring 115 companies across a variety of industries in Vietnam, the accolades from HR Asia magazine have recognised organisations with market-leading workplace cultures.
Embracing the idea that culture can be a distinct competitive advantage has helped Manulife Vietnam grow into one of the leading providers of digital solutions and experiences for customers and distribution teams across the country.
Sang Lee, CEO of Manulife Vietnam, believed the win reflected the important role that culture can play in the success of an organisation both now and in the future.
“It’s a privilege to be named one of the Best Companies to Work for in Asia for the third year running. Our ability to influence positive change across our business and the industry is predicated on having highly engaged employees and a winning culture,” said Sang. “At Manulife Vietnam we believe people are the key to our success and by growing the right culture we can in turn help the people of Vietnam live every day better.”
“Work culture will likely never be the same in the post-pandemic era which is why it’s important that companies embrace the changes that are upon us. In order to continue to get the best out of our employees we also need to focus on fostering a more supportive culture that places humanity and compassion alongside improving an individual’s working experience,” added Sang.

The HR Asia Awards recognise accomplishments in providing extraordinary people experiences through a company’s working environment, HR practices, employee learning, benefits, and overall job satisfaction.
According to Dam Xuan Thuy, chief human resources officer at Manulife Vietnam, the focus on continuous learning has played a key role in their cultural transformation.
“By building an internal culture that champions innovation and continuous learning we can further embrace culture as a distinct competitive advantage,” said Thuy. “We understand the importance of a knowledge-driven culture and the role this plays in transforming the way people think, act, and work.”
“Engagement isn’t based on one change or a single initiative. It comes from many small changes that add up to a bigger whole. Our ambition is to build a culture where engagement is part of how we work to enable and empower our people to make a difference,” added Thuy.
