The images shook customers' faith in LotteCinama to the core |
On July 3, Pham Khanh Phong Lan, head of the Ho Chi Minh City’s Food Safety Management Board has signed the decision on penalising LotteCinema Vietnam Co., Ltd. VND26.5 million ($1,170).
In the morning of July 3, inspection delegation reviewed conditions of food safety in LotteCinema Vietnam Co., Ltd. at third floor of Lotte Centre in 469 Nguyen Huu Tho Street, Tan Hung Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
They detected that LotteCinema’s certificate of eligibility for food safety has expired for more than three months. The areas of processing, storage of food and restaurants are not hygienic. For example, the food is placed directly on the floor of the warehouse, food storage containers are not hygienic, food sinks are used in the food store area.
A week earlier, many people were frightened to see images of numerous maggots in the milk machine, which were posted on the fanpage of Lotte Cinema Nam Saigon (in District 7). This content was deleted soon but other facebook users captured this status and shared on social network.
Hundreds of maggots in the milk machine at LotteCinema |
Thai Ngoc Duong, representative of Lotte Cinema told nld.com.vn that Lotte Cinema did not sell any product of milk between June 21 (the machine started to be broken) and July 1 (this incident was realised). They were trying to check and overcome this incident.
This should be the private messages that managers of Lotte Cinema Nam Saigon sent to officers on cleaning equipment and machines after use, but accidentally published widely on facebook. It is fortunately for all users and customers to look at the sloppy and dirty food and services of this South Korean firm.
LotteCinema Vietnam Co., Ltd. is the joint venture between South Korea’s Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd. and Fafim Vietnam JSC
