Vietnam's economy has grown strongly, contributing significantly to growth in the F&B industry, thanks to a population of nearly 100 million people; abundant and quality raw materials, and diversity in production and processing facilities.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that the Vietnamese F&B market will reach VND655 trillion ($27.29 billion), with an increase in value of about 10.92 per cent compared to 2023.

The north of Vietnam in 2024 has witnessed strong development of food and beverage business models, with new brands catching up with trends and attracting a large number of young customers, leading to a sharp increase in franchising activities in Hanoi, Haiphong, and neighbouring provinces and cities.

The popularity of social networks and the trend of reviewing products and check-ins at places to eat and drink has affected consumer psychology. Survey results from Reputa, a system for monitoring and analysing information on the network environment, show that over 80 per cent of purchasing decisions are influenced by online information. Moreover, customers are increasingly interested in brands that emphasise convenience, are environmentally friendly, and contribute to the community.

These positive signs make the F&B industry in Vietnam increasingly competitive, requiring businesses and manufacturers to constantly change and find new ways to approach the market.
