Long An International Port praised at conference

Long An International port has been recognised and commended for its scale, development strategy, and potential to drive economic and social development in the Mekong Delta and the region as a whole.

At the event, a logistics conference and exhibition in the Philippines held during March 19-21, the booth for Long An International Port attracted numerous delegates with inquiries that saw several discussions concerning collaboration.

Elmer Francisco U. Sarmiento, Undersecretary of the Philippines Department of Transportation, spoke highly of the development potential of this port.

"Long An International Port can connect with the regional transportation system effectively, with its large investment scale, comprehensive equipment, and diverse cargo handling capacity, the port ensures optimal services for import-export goods in the region," said Sarmiento.

Furthermore, the signing ceremony of the MoU between Long An International Port and Oriental Port and Allied Services Corporation (OPASCOR), Philippines at the event, paves the way for cooperation in promoting trade between the two localities.

Vo Quoc Huy, chairman of the Board of Directors of Long An Port JSC, said, "We aspire to cooperation between the leaders of OPASCOR, and Long An International Port as we seek to connect opportunities for partnerships between the two ports, thereby facilitating trade between the business communities of our two countries, leading to mutually beneficial relationships in the future."

Tomas Riveral, president and CEO of OPASCOR, said, "Although Long An International Port is a newcomer to the community, it has spared no effort in connecting with ports in the region and worldwide, thereby promoting and enhancing Vietnam's image."

"Our development aims are made easier by collaborating with projects of the scale and ambition of Long An International port," added Riveral.
