VLF honours Long An International Port

On December 2, at the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2023 (VLF), Long An International Port was honoured to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) for its outstanding achievements in developing logistics services in Vietnam in 2023.

The Vietnam Logistics Forum is an annual event organised by the MoIT since 2013 to promote the development of logistics services, create connections linking logistics with production and import-export as well as serving as a venue for dialogue and providing update regarding urgent issues of logistics services in Vietnam and around the world.

With the theme, "Logistics and Digital Transformation for the Mekong Delta," VLF 2023 attracted over 500 delegates and representatives of domestic and foreign businesses.

During the discussion session titled 'Logistics: Facing the Challenges of Digital Transformation and Green Transformation,' Bui Le Hai Nguyen, Chief Information Officer of Dongtam Group said, "The National Digital Transformation Program by 2025 with orientation to 2030 has been approved by the Prime Minister, in which logistics is one of eight industries that needs to be prioritised for digital transformation. Digital transformation plays a crucial role in logistics operations to improve performance, save costs, enhance service quality, increase competitiveness, and promote transparency in transportation."

"In response to the integration trend, Long An International Port has been adopting comprehensive digital transformation systems for the improvement of the entire value chain, enhancement of automation for the entire operating and service processes, and evolution towards becoming a green and smart port. Consequently, the port has been operating and providing a full range of seaport and logistics services such as general cargo and container handling, warehousing, international freight forwarding, barge transportation, and customs brokerage."

VLF honours Long An International Port

Long An International Port has recently signed a Letter of Intent to establish a sister port relationship with Long Beach Port (California, US) during the Conference of the California Port Authority and signed an MoU with the Port of Oakland (California, US). This signing ceremony is important in fostering cooperation not only for trade purposes but also towards the common goal of sustainable development, combating climate change, and the protection of the environment.

“Sustainable port development has become one of the top priorities and an inevitable trend not only for port operators but also for foreign governments and international associations. Long An International Port is steadfast in its goal of becoming a green and smart port," said Vo Quoc Huy, chairman of the Board of Directors of Long An International Port.

Topics of particular importance include the promotion of green ports, clean energy, energy-saving methods, application of IT, proper resource usage, and environmental protection. In addition, Long An International Port strengthens ties between relevant parties, builds consensus, and encourages action towards the common goal of sustainable development of Vietnam's logistics industry."

In recognition of its previous efforts, Long An International Port is honoured to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Industry and Trade for its outstanding achievements in developing Vietnam's logistics service industry in 2023. This honourable achievement marks a memorable milestone in the journey of Long An International Port towards sustainable development.

As part of the series of activities of the Vietnam Logistics Forum 2023, on the morning of December 3, 2023, VLF delegates and guests joined the facility tour at Long An International Port, located at 68, Provincial Road No.830, Vinh Hoa hamlet, Tan Tap commune, Can Giuoc district, Long An province.

This activity contributed to the successful running of the yearly national VLF, which includes research activities, surveys, multilateral connections, discussions, and proposals for macro-level and micro-level solutions to support the development of Vietnam’s logistics industry as part of the global value chain.
