HEINEKEN Vietnam honoured amongst best companies to work for in Asia |
The recognition was announced at a ceremony held on September 14, 2018, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for the first time, witnessed the crowning of the best companies to work for in Asia - Vietnam Chapter.
Awardees were selected from a pool of 130 nominees across 24 industries, based on proprietary research that assessed the company's working environment, HR practices, employee engagement and job satisfaction.
This year, thousands of employees across Vietnam responded to the HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Survey. HR Asia, a publication of Business Media International, developed this proprietary survey in consultation with a team of senior industry practitioners and leading thought leaders.

“We believe the better trained our people are, the bigger the impact they will have on our company and the country,” said Le Qui Don, HR director of HEINEKEN Vietnam, adding that HEINEKEN Vietnam has incorporated its sustainability strategy into its core business, with a key focus on caring for People, Planet and Prosperity.
Don stated that HEINEKEN Vietnam’s business success was very much due to its commitment to its people.
Because people are at the heart of HEINEKEN Vietnam’s business, HEINEKEN Vietnam has invested immensely in developing staff, at all levels. Employees working at HEINEKEN Vietnam benefit from the company’s people development programme to increase their capacities and skillsets, as well as innovative programmes like short-term assignments and graduate programmes that give Vietnamese employees the chance to experience work in other HEINEKEN companies all around the world.
Employees at HEINEKEN Vietnam also get to experience the company’s sustainability programmes including a Green workplace platform designed to encourage a better working environment because, not just within the company but also in the community.
HEINEKEN Vietnam has passionately pursued key development programs. A number of intensive programs have been designed for tertiary graduates to learn and grow within the first two years of their engagement.
Two different “GO PLACES” programs are currently offered to help budding professionals kick-start their career at HEINEKEN. They are the Asia Pacific Graduate Program (APGP), and HEINEKEN Vietnam Graduate programme (HVGP).
In 2017, the company invested VND18.9 billion ($836,000) in developing its people, including over 2,600 training hours for employees on road safety and health. HEINEKEN Vietnam went further by providing over 6,000 hours of training for its distributors and sub-distributors.
HEINEKEN Vietnam employees also spent over 2,000 volunteer hours on charity and advocacy initiatives and the Company invested a further VND7.8 billion ($345,000) in direct community support initiatives. These investments are a testament to HEINEKEN Vietnam’s commitment to ensure a highly skilled workforce.
