Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs said that in 2024, Hanoi's labour market reported positive changes and exceeded the target of job creation.
To achieve this result, the department has directed the implementation of solutions to develop the labour market, contributing to economic development, production, and business. It has also closely monitored labour use and employment, especially in industrial parks, to promptly support enterprises to overcome difficulties with human resources.
Moreover, it has strengthened consulting and job transaction sessions, improved the efficiency of management, and regulated labour supply and demand to effectively connect employees and employers.
To successfully reach its targets, the department has coordinated closely with departments and agencies in the city and other localities, and regularly monitored the developments of the labour market to direct the Hanoi Employment Service Centre to strengthen job fairs to match supply and demand.
The Employment Service Centre has organised 239 job fairs with 7,289 participating units and enterprises so far this year. The total recruitment and enrolment needs reached 142,491 people; the total number of interviewed workers was 49,122; and the number of workers recruited at the sessions was 17,374. In 2024, the centre plans to have completed 261 job fairs, recruiting 18,500 workers.
With the implementation of effective job creation solutions, the urban unemployment rate has been estimated to be less than 3 per cent by the end of 2024, achieving the plan set by Hanoi People's Council.
