Speaking at the event, Do Cong Khanh, deputy general director of Gemadept, said, "For the past 33 years, Gemadept has consistently shown a pioneering spirit and a will to move forward. It is this spirit that inspires the Gemadept Run."
The event, which saw the participation of more than 1,000 runners, was an opportunity to promote the company's relationships with customers, partners, and employees, while encouraging exercise and healthy activities for all.
During these challenging economic times, Gemadept hopes to demonstrate the importance of prioritising physical and mental health to overcome challenges. The company has also launched a charity initiative to support disadvantaged children in mountainous regions to pursue education and a healthy lifestyle, enabling them to study in a safe environment with the necessary facilities to create a better future for themselves.
Gemadept has also joined forces with relevant stakeholders to raise funds for a school building project. The scheme has received widespread support and enough funds have already been raised to build Ho Thau Kindergarten in Lai Chau, providing students there with a healthy and safe environment to learn, play, and develop.
Gemadept was established in the 1990s and since then, has built an integrated port and logistics ecosystem stretching from one end of the country to the other. In 1993, Gemadept became one of the first three companies to be equitised and listed on the stock market in 2002.
As a major player in Vietnam's port operation and logistics industry, Gemadept is integral to the flow of goods being traded between Vietnam and the rest of the world.
