The festival will take place from 7 p.m. on February 7 to 10 p.m. on February 14. The one-kilometer road from Bach Dang Street in the Bach Dang-Phan Dinh Phung T-junction to Bach Dang-Le Van Duyet T-junction will be decorated and installed with artworks made of flowers.
The street will be divided into six sections with themes of spring in memory, spring of prosperity, spring of mountain and water, flower blossom, season of love and season of convergence. Each theme will have its own flowers and symbol.
With more than 100,000 baskets of flowers and ornamental trees with more than 100 types of flowers such as daisy, orchid, rose, marigold, tulip, carnation and lily.
Especially, inspired from the Year of Snake 2013, flower street will also feature works depicting images of cobra and snakes and there will be a snake releasing a pearl, a symbol of good luck and prosperity.
One theme of the project is the season of love which coincides with Valentine’s Day with heart-shaped flowers accordingly.
Other activities include cooking banh chung (square glutinous rice cake filled with pork and green bean paste) and donating Tet gifts for poor people.
