Anh Vien gets double win at SEA Games’ swimming

Vietnamese swimmer Anh Vien today won two gold medals at the women’s 200m individual medley and 200m women’s backstroke events of the 27th Southeast Asian Games taking place in Myanmar.

She finished the 200m backstroke clocking at 2:14:80, breaking SEA Games record of 2:15:73 set up by Indonesian Yessy Yosaputra at the 2011 SEA Games.

Earlier, the other Vietnamese swimmer, Tran Duy Khoi grabbed a bronze medal in the men’s 400m individual medley.

In wrestling, Vietnam won four gold medals on Thursday by Tuan Anh, The Anh, Nguyen Huy Ha, and Nguyen Thi Lua.

With the results, Vietnam enlarged its medal purse to 16 gold medals, ranking second on the tally after the host Myanmar.
