Internet-based smart home product launched in Vietnam

Venture fund DFJ VinaCapital has assisted the US’ Greenvity to launch its smart home technologies in Vietnam.

The investee company Greenvity is a multinational technology firm with a headquarters in Silicon Valley, California. The company manufactures high-tech products for smart lighting, smart homes and security to institutional clients.

With the sponsorship of DFJ VinaCapital, Greenvity will launch its Internet of Things turnkey solutions in Vietnam this year, ranging from chips and boards through software to cloud and mobile applications. The technologies can be utilised in commerce, industry and agriculture.

At the launching event held on August 3, representatives from DFJ VinaCapital noted that the fund saw great potential in the Vietnamese hi-tech market, especially in the smart home and security sector.

“DFJ VinaCapital is pleased to sponsor and support Greenvity’s debut of innovative products in Vietnam”, said managing director Phuc Than.

The exact amount of sponsorship for Greenvity has not been revealed at the event.

Founded in 2007, DFJ VinaCapital is a member of DFJ (Draper Fisher Jurvetson), one of Silicon Valley's leading technology investment funds, and VinaCapital, Vietnam's leading asset management firm.

The fund invests in early-stage technology companies working on the Vietnamese and the global market, with a focus on high growth sectors such as the Internet, media, software and services – all of which can be targeted and utilised by the Internet of Things.
