SEOUL: South Korean actor Bae Yong-joon tied the knot with actress Park Soo-jin in a private ceremony at the Sheraton Grande Walkerhill hotel in Seoul on Monday (Jul 27).
The ceremony was attended by the couple’s close friends and family. The head of JYP Entertainment Park Jin-young was among the performers at the event.
A large number of fans gathered outside the hotel in the drizzling rain, hoping to catch a glimpse of their idols. The hotel had served as the backdrop for one of Bae's more popular dramas, Hotelier,
In an Instagram post on his way to the wedding venue, Bae said he felt “nervous and emotional” on his wedding day, and thanked his supporters.
“Everyone’s blessings will always be my greatest source of strength. I am sorry I cannot be with everyone but I will remember your love. I will live well and share my happiness often with everyone. Thank you! You must also stay happy!” wrote Bae.
According to the 42-year-old actor’s management agency, he started dating Park, who is about 13 years his junior, in February this year. He found her bright personality attractive and felt that they have many things in common, so they decided to tie the knot. The actor has repeatedly denied that it is a shotgun wedding.
