The Hanoi Stock Exchange officially announced the outcome of the selection programme for outstanding members for the 2009-2014, with VPBank Securities honoured among nine outstanding securities firms that contributed to the development of the stock market.

This is the second year the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) has held the programme to honour and recognise securities members for their contributions to the growth of the Vietnam stock market for the 2009-2014 period. Securities companies were evaluated based on comprehensive criteria designated by the HNX including the brokerage market share, the level of co-operation and co-ordination with the HNX, financial capability and disclosure compliance.

“We are delighted to be recognised for our efforts to help develop Vietnam’s financial market and cultivate closer co-ordination between the HNX and its members while striving to establish operational excellence and an effective and transparent stock market”, said the firm’s CEO Nguyen Lam Dung.

VPBS focuses on institutional brokerage as its medium and long-term goals in the brokerage domain while also specialising in retail brokerage including preferential policies for retail clients, trading systems and their integration with the stock exchanges, differentiated features, and a professional broker network. In order to achieve the strategy, VPBS is firmly committed to building a strong platform. From the end of 2013, VPBS has established one of the largest research centres in the market with a total of 23 analysts. The centre has published 716 reports, in both English and Vietnamese, including the VPBS Daily Market Review; monthly, quarterly and yearly macroeconomics reports; key industry research, and key company coverage reports. Furthermore, in November 2014, VPBS became one of the very first securities companies in Vietnam to launch research coverage of the Myanmar market to provide investment opportunities for Vietnamese and international investors.

In the investment banking area, VPBS has been lauded for its significant achievements and impactful contributions to the market’s development. VPBS was Vietnam’s sole representative to become an exclusive member of IMAP – a Global M&A Advisor network. In 2014, VPBS received the Best Debt Capital Market House in Vietnam award from Finance Asia magazine for a second consecutive year, the Best Bond House in Vietnam award from Alpha Southeast Asia magazine and the Best Domestic Bond House in Vietnam award from The Asset magazine.

These achievements have reaffirmed VPBS’ commitment to excellence and as a driving force to realise its goal to become one of the preeminent securities firms in Vietnam and the region.
