The ex-girlfriend of the suspect of the homicide that claimed six lives in southern Vietnam earlier this week was the last to be killed, as the murderer had allegedly told her his heartfelt lovesick story before cutting her throat.

Nguyen Hai Duong, who admitted to plot and carry out the shocking massacre in Binh Phuoc Province on Tuesday, would send shiver to the spine of anyone who listens to his confession as to how he purportedly killed six people in an apparent love revenge.

Le Van My, 48, his 42-year-old wife, Nguyen Le Thi Anh Nga, and their two children and two relatives were found dead inside their villa in Chon Thanh District at 7:00 am on Tuesday.

The six slain people are the couple, their 22-year-old daughter Le Thi Anh Linh, 15-year-old son Le Quoc Anh, 18-year-old relative Du Ngoc To Nhu and 14-year-old relative Du Minh Vy.

The suspect confessed to police on Friday he and Linh were once in a romantic relationship, and the massacre stemmed from his jealousy and hatred after the girl dumped him for a new lover.

The suspect told police he broke into the villa, killed five of Linh’s beloved ones, before sitting in front of her to speak out all of the sorrows he had suffered from his broken heart. The 24-year-old then allegedly murdered his ex-lover and fled.

Duong, who was on Friday detained by police with his apparent accomplice Vu Van Tien, also 24, said the two had intended to persuade Vy, the relative of wood magnate My, to be their spy in return for a share from assets stolen from the house.

However, the boy later had the second thought, driving the two suspects to turn to Nhu, his older sister by blood.

Nhu agreed, and purportedly told Duong later that the villa’s camera had stopped working, and that My had recently withdrawn a huge amount of cash to pay his employees.

Vy was allegedly the first victim to be killed, apparently because Duong hated him for changing his mind.

An 18-month-old baby nicknamed Na, survived the massacre.

The baby was crying when Duong was going downstairs after killing Linh, he told police. The suspect then cuddled the baby to send her back to sleep before leaving the villa, he confessed.

Duong was arrested in Binh Phuoc whereas Tien was nabbed in a rent house the two suspects shared in the outlying district of Hoc Mon in Ho Chi Minh City.

Duong confessed to police he was the only murder of the six family members, while Tien only helped tying their hands and tapping their mouths.

Duong said he wanted to exact vengeance out of the lost love and to steal money and other assets to give to his accomplice.

Tien said he was appealed by the promised fortune, as well as wanted to “help [his] friend.”
