The Government chief expressed his pleasure to visit Cuba and see with his own eyes the country’s achievements under the leadership of Cuban Communist Party, State and Government.

The Cuban leader spoke highly of PM Dung’s visit, saying it provides a good chance for the two countries to figure out orientations for advancement of the bilateral ties.

Both sides discussed measures to continue beefing up the relations, especially the consultation and coordination between the Parties, Governments and people of the two countries.

PM Dung affirmed that Viet Nam stands ready to cooperate with and assist Cuba in the fields that Viet Nam has advantages.

The two leaders agreed to task their ministries and agencies to devise initiatives and expand cooperation, including effectively realizing the political consultation mechanism between the two foreign ministries and supporting each other at multilateral forums.

They agreed that economic cooperation will be a focus and showed their determination to implement the agreements reached at the 31st meeting of the Viet Nam-Cuba Intergovernmental Committee held in Ha Noi last September.

Mr. Miguel Diaz Canel Bermudez hoped that Viet Nam would continue to help Cuba develop agriculture.

The two leaders also discussed ways to foster cooperation in healthcare, bio-technology, petroleum, construction, tourism, electronics and telecommunication.
