As a visual artist, Quang Dai’s creative journey has always been driven by personal memories and observations of life. For him, art is a medium to express deep feelings and emotions, and in doing so, connect with others on a profound level.
With Quang Dai’s ongoing art therapy project "How are you these days?" he has explored his own feelings around intimacy and sentimentality. "Love is all" is the result of that exploration.
“Love is all” features a series of exclusive activities with artists in different aspects of life |
"Love is all'' is a declaration of the artist’s next creative journey, which explores the complexity and beauty of that most essential feeling – love.
Through this exhibition, Quang Dai hopes to inspire a dialogue between his paintings and the viewer, asking fundamental questions of human existence: "Are you happy, healthy, and content?" It is his hope that visitors will take away a feeling, "I feel loved."
The exhibition takes place in Atrium Lounge, on the 5th floor of Renaissance Riverside Saigon, thanks to the venue’s distinctive architecture and natural lighting.
Atrium is the perfect location for the interactive art installation, which features handmade heart-shaped pillows arranged in a labyrinth in the shape of the Co Loa Citadel outside of Hanoi, Vietnam, dating back to the third century BC.
In addition to the installation, the exhibition features a hotel room that has been transformed into Quang Dai’s ideal canvas to arrange his paintings exploring different aspects of love.
Each one is a response to his personal experience with love and invites the viewer to engage their own reflection in an intimate setting.
The programme will take place at Renaissance Riverside Hotel Saigon until June 20 |
Every day during the exhibition, there will be activities with Quang Dai and artist friends working in different media such as scent, illustration, fashion, video arts, interior, and sound healing, all of which come together to convey love through performance. These collaborative activities activate a platform for visitors to interact with the art and explore the theme of love in a more immersive way.
Quang Dai said, “I believe that my artworks do not need to be understood but felt with the heart.”
Through "Love is all," he aims to create an experience that engages all the senses and encourages viewers to reflect on their own experiences with love.
On the opening day, while guests immerse themselves in art, they can also treat themselves with unique culinary and special drinks that the hotel has prepared exclusively for the exhibition.
The canapés are crafted with love and special emotions that one experiences in life. There will also be special cocktails that fused with the artist's inspiration and colour theme.
The exhibition will take place at Room 511 from June 6-20 from 10 am -6 pm daily without entrance fee.
All sales of artworks at the exhibition will contribute to the fund for Operation Smiles.
