The Intercontinental Hanoi Westlake and the the Tourism Department of Hanoi Open University inked a contract on the IHG Academy Programme which will work with community organisations and education providers to improve local peoples’ skills and give them employment opportunities.

“The IHG Academy Programme will provide skilled, motivated people an opportunity to work in our hotels, thereby delivering better service to our guests and opportunities to gain real experience and develop skills in the hospitality industry,” said Intercontinental general manager Adam McDonald.

Participants will get feedback and support from the management team during their work placement and get job interview experience through a recruitment discussion.

This will likely improve their chances to secure a job at an Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) property or find a job at other hotel chains in the hospitality industry.

The programme also aims to improve employability, create job opportunities, and build a sustainable community.

Participants would come from all walks of life, ranging from university graduates to people struggling to find a job such as the homeless, war veterans, and the disabled.

Over 10,000 people worldwide have benefited from the programme which creates a talent pipeline that gives hotels access to high quality potential employees.

It also works to increase employee engagement, loyalty, and pride in working for IHG.

The Intercontinental Hotels & Resorts brand has 170 hotels located in more than 60 countries with local insight that comes from over 60 years experience.
