Dong Nai announces results of Nestlé Milo inspection

Dong Nai Department of Health submitted an inspection report to Dong Nai People's Committee on May 31 concerning claims made by Nestlé Vietnam (located in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Bien Hoa city) about the company's Nestlé Milo barley milk product.

The cross-sector inspection team was established following the guidance of the Food Safety Authority and was led by the Ministry of Health but included members of the Department for Corruption, Smuggling, and Economic Crimes; Dong Nai Public Security; Dong Nai Department of Justice; Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology; Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism; and Dong Nai Market Management Department.

The inspection team took samples of the product and sent them to the Quality Measurement Standards Technical Centre 3 (QUATEST 3) to evaluate the safety and quality indicators. On May 28, QUATEST 3 delivered the test results No.KT3-03213BTP5.

These results indicate that Nestlé Milo barley milk fully meets food safety and quality standards according to the company's self-declaration documents.

The inspection comes after public concern arose regarding the statement on Nestlé Milo packaging; "Now scientifically proven to be more resilient. Clinically tested by the Institute of Nutrition."

Nestlé Vietnam confirmed that it only uses information from the Institute of Nutrition on the 'Nestlé Milo barley milk supplement' product label. During the inspection, the company proactively ceased all advertisements related to the Institute of Nutrition on television, digital platforms, social networks, and billboards.
