Diageo Vietnam officially announced that its parent company Diageo Plc has been recognised as one of the 10 best places to work in the world by the prestigious Great Place to Work® Institute (GPWI).

This year, the company was listed in ninth place on the list of the 25 world’s best multinational workplaces. It is ranked alongside global conglomerates such as Microsoft, Google, Marriott and Federal Express. Especially, Diageo is the only drinks company to make it into the top 10 and also for the second consecutive year, the highest rated Europe-based company on the list. Last year, it was ranked 11th.

This shows that Diageo and its affiliates worldwide, including Diageo Vietnam, are ideal choices for talented employees around the world to work for.

Stephane Gripon, general manager of Diageo Vietnam, said: “This honour is a source of great pride of the group in general and Diageo Vietnam’s employees in particular who have engaged in building up a world class working environment in Vietnam.”

“Like our parent company, Diageo Vietnam has set a target to build and develop human resources who will perform to the highest levels, have great leadership skills and help create an environment of integration,” said Tran Thi Ai Lien, personnel director of Diageo Vietnam.

Lien added that at Diageo Vietnam, the top priorities in its financial year of 2013 are employee development and working environment improvement. Accordingly, we want to build an environment that ensures all our team feels belonged, valued and they have a voice as well as follow the highest level of compliance. This will be the foundation to create effectiveness in work, competitive advantages in the market and long-term sustainability of the business.

Since launching its debut best workplaces lists in partnership with FORTUNE magazine in the United States and Exame in Brazil in 1997, Great Place to Work® Institute now recognises leading workplaces in some 45 countries. To create its best workplace list, every year, Great Place to Work® analyses data from surveys taken by more than 2.5 million employees and workplace culture analytics taken from 5, 671 companies, that represent more than 11 million employees.

Susan Lucas-Connel, CEO of Great Place to Work®, said: “The companies listed on the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces List are creating workplaces dedicated to fostering trust, pride and camaraderie amongst their employees. Their inclusion on this prestigious list demonstrates their commitment to continually improving the lives of their employees and setting innovative new standards for workplaces of the future.”
