Worawit Arunraksa, assistant vice president and manager of Corporate Sustainable Development at the company (CPV), received the award at the event.

The accolade demonstrates CPV’s efforts to become sustainable as a leading company in the vertically-integrated agro-industrial and food business with its feed-farm-food model.

CPV has determined the vision and orientation for sustainable development, and is improving management capacity, establishing plans to respond to tough situations – not only ensuring safe production and meeting the needs of consumers but also creating the best sustainable development direction for the company.

Moreover, CPV has been successful in applying the corporate sustainability index (CSI) to overcome difficulties, affirm trust in production and business activities, support the community, and protect the environment, implementing sustainable business strategies in accordance with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals on society and the environment.

Arunraksa said that through six years of applying the set of indicators to production and business at enterprises, the CSI has now been simplified into 119 indicators, helping businesses visualise a roadmap for implementing sustainable development on a small to large scale.

Thereby, strategies are built and consolidated in line with current capabilities and future sustainable development orientations.

C.P. Vietnam - the second year in the "Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises of Vietnam 2021 – manufacturing sector"

The second consecutive year of being listed in the top 10 most sustainable companies in the manufacturing category is due to the continuous efforts of CPV members at all levels in production and business activities as well as supporting the social community and environmental protection. The company said it will continue to strive and make more efforts with this position, while complying with legal provisions on environmental protection, reasonable use of energy, applying circular economic models, and balancing the ecosystem towards sustainable business.

In parallel, CPV also cares about social benefits with a series of activities for the community such as voluntary blood donation, medical examination and treatment and distribution of medicines for the poor, and the synergy house project. The company has put in place positive policies to provide spiritual and material support to the people of central provinces in particular, which have been severely damaged by natural disasters and floods.

In addition, the company has provided millions of free medical masks and food to the community, created the “Hospital at Home” scheme to support COVID-19 patients, and offered support in terms of counselling, oxygen tanks and generators, ambulances, and medicine bags.

Being honoured at the ceremony is the pride of the CPV team and the achievement is the result of consistency in developing the business towards sustainability. With that, the company will continue to strive for the sustainable development of the company and for the socioeconomy of Vietnam.

The CSI programme, held since 2016, is organised annually by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. The goal of the initiative is to find and praise pioneering enterprises that perform well in responsible business, while also encouraging enterprises to apply the CSI, thereby helping to build a thriving sustainable business.
