Chevron and its partners extend support to Vietnamese children

The $150,000 commitment builds on the existing Block B gas-to-power project education programme that has already provided scholarships to more than 3,800 children in the Mekong Delta since 2009. Chevron Vietnam Ltd., PetroVietnam Exploration Production Corporation Ltd. (PVEP), Mitsui Oil Exploration Co., Ltd. (MOECO), and PTT Exploration and Production Plc. (PTTEP), have also supported the work to upgrade 19 schools in the past four years.

In addition to the scholarships, the 2014 programme will include work to upgrade five additional schools in Can Tho, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu and Hau Giang.

All three are building blocks for improving the quality of life in communities. Working with the NFVC, we seek to improve education from kindergarten through high school to help foster opportunities for people in a 21st century economy. We aim to build a better future for the local communities of the Mekong Delta.”
