As event co-sponsors, Autoed and Synectics Consulting Corporation will introduce VITRESCENCE attendees to Autodesk Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology at the Ministry of Construction-backed event at the Vietnam Exhibition and Fair Centre in Hanoi.
BIM is an intelligent model-based process that provides insight for creating and managing building and infrastructure projects faster, more economically and with less environmental impact.
Phan Trung Hieu, country manager of Autodesk in Vietnam, said: “VIETCONSTECH2012 is a great opportunity for international and domestic companies to network, share best practices and introduce the most advanced solutions for design, construction, quality control and cost management.”
Autodesk BIM technology has been used for more than a decade in developed countries. Small architectural and large consulting and construction companies in Vietnam have adopted Autodesk BIM technology in the past few years. Binh Thien An, a key player in Vietnam’s infrastructure and construction industry, has embraced Autodesk BIM software in building the “Diamond Island” project, which is expected to be a new architectural symbol of green design in Ho Chi Minh City.
Autodesk BIM software includes a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for design, visualisation, simulation, and collaboration that uses the rich information in the intelligent model to inform better decision-making and break down the barriers to better business.
“Some of our Vietnamese customers have successfully implemented BIM and are reaping the benefits, including time and cost savings, clash detections and reductions in change orders.
These trailblazers are showing their commitment to changing working process – from upper management to designers, accelerating adoption with intensive training on BIM software, and planning for their workforces to adopt 3D models to be used across the project life span,” Hieu added.
Bon Tran, managing director of Synectics, said BIM made it possible to rapidly build 3D models of urban environments, including existing above and below ground infrastructure, from readily available Geographic Information System, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer-aided Design data.
“With this, planners and engineers can use these virtual environments to rapidly layout and model new infrastructure proposals in context,” he added.
