The plant, which will be equipped with advanced technologies, will produce high-tech electronic products for smart homes, in addition to the traditional wiring products being manufactured in Viet Nam for almost 20 years.

In a press release on August 19, the company said it planned to consolidate existing manufacturing operations currently based in the Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Zone and Amata Industrial Park into the new state-of-the-art facility in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City.

The plant will include lean manufacturing concepts and Schneider Electric's latest energy and process management solutions, enabling it to flex and scale to the dominant buying behaviour of its customers in an agile manner.

It is projected to be ready to manufacture products for customers by the end of 2016.

The new plant is designed to span over 12,000 sq.m to be one of the company's largest in its global network of more than 230 manufacturing factories and expected to meet the demands of customers in both the Vietnamese and global markets.

Global Schneider Electric offers integrated solutions across multiple market segments, including leadership positions in non-residential & residential buildings, industries & machines manufacturers, utilities & infrastructure and data centres & networks.

Schneider Electric Viet Nam participated in the national project of "500KV North-South Transmission Line" in 1992. Since 1994, it developed three representative offices in Ha Noi, HCM City and central Da Nang.
