Leading securities firm VPS processes thousands of transactions via its financial management platform. Thus, it is crucial to increase the utilisation of resources to achieve high performance, availability, and unmatched security while handling complex concurrent workloads.
The company has been an IBM Power user since 2010. The company's entire financial services portfolio is hosted in its data centre with IBM Power systems running the backend.
VPS decided that it was time to upgrade its IT infrastructure as it prepared for growth. The company needed increased scalability and reliability from its IT infrastructure to handle the increased workloads placed on its data centre and hosting platform. Therefore, the firm began to look at upgrading to Power10 due to its stability and high performance.
The Power10 system migration will enable VPS to leverage the technology to run its back-end processes, minimising effort and risk while migrating the applications, databases, and hardware with just a simple system restart.
Mai Tat Thang, chief technology officer of VPS said, “The project ensures that transaction data and management systems deliver the most outstanding performance and that they are ready to meet the increasing demands of customers.”
“We have doubled the capability of transaction processing for larger customers, lowered the risk of system failure or overload, strengthened customer loyalty, and increased profits. The collaboration with IBM provides customers with smooth and secure transactions, and simultaneously opens new opportunities to enhance the customer experience in the future," he added.
Moving forward, VPS is prepared to continue to increase the number of users of its financial services. The securities firm has chosen a platform that is expected to last long into the future.
