Companies and HR leaders shared lessons and real stories of dealing with COVID-19 |
The fourth Vietnam HR Awards Ceremony & Gala in 2020 organised by the Newspaper of Labour & Social Affairs in collaboration with Talentnet Corporation officially took place on November 25 with the participation of more than 400 business leaders, managers, and HR experts to honour companies and HR leaders who responded magnificently to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Launched in April 2020, the Vietnam HR Awards 2020 – Special Edition with only one goal and category “Responsive Human Capital Initiative” wishes to do its part to help the business community bring up examples and valuable lessons in responding to risks that the COVID-19 pandemic was a test of. After more than six months and three rigorous selection rounds, the awards have chosen and honoured 10 highly responsive companies and 10 highly responsive HR leaders along with two companies with progressive response to Challenging Adversity.
At the event, Nguyen Thi Ha, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) shared, “Since the beginning of the year, the COVID-19 pandemic has had a negative impact on almost all manufacturing and service companies. MOLISA has advised the government to issue comprehensive and synchronised policies to allow companies and employees to stabilise production and life to ensure social security. The government’s practical and effective support has promptly aided and accompanied companies to help them stay active and gradually overcome challenges.”
Accordingly, supporting companies and employees is one of the most prioritised goals. The MOLISA determined that policies must be practical, quick, and convenient to implement, and synchronised from central to local levels. In the business sector, responsive initiatives are crucial to ensure the rights and safety of employees, while promoting both the quality and quantity of human resources which is the most valuable asset for companies to maintain and develop.
In such a context, under the direction of the MOLISA, Vietnam HR Awards 2020 – Special Edition: Honors companies and HR leaders with highly responsive HR initiatives who have proven their practical, useful, and professional bridging role in the human resources and business community. This annual playground has once again brought a lot of information and lessons learned as well as highly applicable advice from leading economic experts, and become a prestigious programme which helps connect and support companies and HR executives effectively.
Nguyen Thu Hang, deputy editor-in-chief of the Newspaper of Labour & Social Affairs and Dan Sinh Newspaper who is also chairwoman of the awards’ Organizing Committee shared that the COVID-19 pandemic has completely changed the way each business manages, operates, and measures their effectiveness. The return of COVID-19 was no longer a test but a tool to evaluate human resources strategies that companies had carried out. The “firm in objectives, flexible in strategies and tactics” principle requires companies to not only maintain immediate survivability but also act to increase their future competitive advantages. That is the vision of “market-leading” companies and the criteria that this year's awards set out.
Since 2014, the Organizing Committee has continuously organised series of practical seminars in between each awards season, with the desire to bring the most useful and practical information, while creating a professional playground for the human resources and business community in Vietnam.
After being held for six consecutive years and four seasons, Vietnam HR Awards has become a prestigious and premium playground for Vietnam’s human resources community. Coming into its fourth season with many challenges, Vietnam HR Awards 2020 continues to prove its timeliness with the Special Edition themed “Responsive Human Capital Initiative” to honour excellent responsive human capital initiatives in the special context of 2020.
After more than six months and attracting various businesses of all scales and business models, 12 companies and 10 HR leaders has magnificently won the award and been honoured.
