State President: Security for APEC Leaders' Week must be flawless

State President Tran Dai Quang emphasized the “special importance” of protocol and security work during the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week while inspecting preparations at the Da Nang International Airport on October 28.

State President Quang was accompanied by Deputy PM, FM Pham Binh Minh, Chairman of the National Committee for APEC 2017.

Regarding security aspect, State President Quang tasked relevant forces to envisage all scenarios to cope with emerging situations in order to ensure absolute safety in all situations without smallest flaws.

He also asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to coordinate with relevant agencies to ensure the best and thoughtful preparations at hotels where APEC leaders stay to show the host’s hospitality.

In preparing for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, the airport has been upgraded, including the construction of a new terminal and VIP lounge and installation of security equipment.

It is expected that around 10,000 delegates will attend the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Da Nang from November 6-11. This is the second time Viet Nam host APEC forum.
