We completed an initial public offering (IPO) and began trading on the Nasdaq under the ticker SOPA in November 2021. After the IPO, SOPA acquired fast-growing e-commerce companies and expanded its user base across a robust product and service ecosystem.
We now operate six interconnected verticals including loyalty, digital media, travel, telecoms, lifestyle, and food and beverages. As a result, a seamless connection between millions of registered consumers and hundreds of thousands of registered merchants and brands across multiple product and service categories throughout Southeast Asia has been formed.
Online media and advertising is a fast-growing industry in Southeast Asia, and Thoughtful Media Group (TMG) operates in one of our six focus areas. Therefore, the acquisition of TMG is part of SoPa's journey to expand and complete the overall ecosystem, and is also a strategic activity in SoPa's investment to perfect its supply chain by creating a common ecology so that the small ecosystems within the group can maximise support for each other, forming a perfect and efficient supply chain of services to minimise costs and maximise profits for each part of the whole system.
SOPA announced the official launch of Thoughtful Media Group in the Vietnamese market on March 29 |
TMG's mission is to be the region's leading digital advertising platform to help advertisers, businesses, and content creators unlock the potential of the content creation economy. TMG connects brands and audiences, delivering superior results that tend to compete with most traditional and digital forms of media. Through a network of talented creators across industries in Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, TMG will help brands maximise their marketing budgets and achieve business goals through several of the most innovative marketing campaigns in the region.
TMG will provide brands and advertisers with strategic advice from awareness to conversion phrases. It will help advertisers spend money more efficiently, converting hundreds of millions of monthly views in TMG's system across fields such as fashion and beauty, consumer goods, video games, cooking, automotive, and the travel and luxury goods segments into outstanding business results.
As a digital marketing powerhouse, TMG not only provides innovative marketing and branding services, but also helps other ventures in the SOPA ecosystem grow and acquire customers more quickly. Through strategic partnerships with SOPA's sister companies in other verticals, such as our lifestyle platform Leflair, TMG generates additional benefits for users. By partnering with TMG, Leflair leverages the TMG network of talented creators to review and sell their products across multiple online platforms like YouTube and TikTok.
TMG's business strategy includes four core businesses, which are Online Platforms, Premium Brands, Social-selling, and Sports Marketing. Among them, for Vietnam's market, Online Platforms and Premium Brands will be key.
Since joining the SOPA ecosystem, TMG has gained access to the greater financial resources and technological capabilities of its parent company, which has enabled it to expand rapidly into new markets, upgrade its service offerings, develop core technology to better support content creators, and extend its reach to a larger number of reputable brands.
TMG can also utilise collaborations with other members in the SOPA ecosystem to jointly create exclusive marketing and promotion programmes. An example is the collaboration between TMG and Leflair in Vietnam to directly connect content creators with genuine high-end product sources at favourable prices to boost social selling.
Founded in 2010, Thoughtful Media Group pioneered the use of a multichannel network for content creators in the Asian market. After being acquired by SOPA in July 2022, TMG has transformed into a multi-platform integrated advertising network that connects content creators and brands. It has been the strategic partner of YouTube, Meta, and TikTok. |
