Quang Ninh General Hospital acquires additional 512-slices CT scanner from GE Healthcare to improve diagnostic capabilities |
Speaking at the ceremony, Vu Xuan Dien, director of the Quang Ninh Department of Health stated that the application of 512-slices CT scanner provided by GE Healthcare is a milestone in computerised tomography for the hospital particularly and healthcare sector of the northern province of Quang Ninh generally, aimed at bringing high-quality services for patients.
Dien also added that the hospital will develop continuous training course for doctors to master the equipment and maintain it carefully.
Striving to enhance healthcare services quality, Quang Ninh General Hospital has been investing in advanced technologies. This newly acquired CT scanner is the hospital’s next effort to deliver better patient outcomes.

CT multi-slice technology plays an important role in the diagnosis and monitoring of a wide range of symptoms and diseases including heart diseases. Designed with revolutionary snapshot capability as well as the 16cm , Revolution CT delivers high quality images for early diagnosis of heart diseases which helps clinicians decide the right treatment path for patients.
The 512-slices CT scanner integrates software that gives 82 per cent dose reduction compared to traditional methods. It also allows the assessment of both the morphology and myocardial perfusion in one shot. Especially, the results help accurately assess the area of the brain that can be saved from stroke, and provide effective chemotherapy in cancer.
