VinUni's curricula will be accredited by world-renowned US universities |
Located inside the VinCity Ocean Park complex in Hanoi’s Gia Lam district, VinUni is built on a land area of 23 hectares. The university consists of a main building, dormitories, a sports complex, and technical and supporting areas.
The private university is designed with charismatic architecture from multinational groups AECOM and HBA and will have its curricula advised by its strategic partners Cornell University and the University of Pennsylvania.
VinUni’s infrastructure will meet Quacquarelli Symonds’s QS 5-star standard. Behind the neoclassical façade of the main building, VinUni will be furnished with modern equipment and advanced technologies which can accommodate sophisticated teaching methods like team-based learning (TBL), project-based learning (PBL), and activity-based learning (ABL). Notably, the entire institution is designed for the optimal convenience of students, ensuring that lecturers and students are able to work in a state-of-the-art environment.
With low construction density, VinUni’s campus was largely reserved for natural landscaping. The ten-storey tower will be 108 metres high.
With the ambition of becoming an all-in-one destination, VinUni will provide students a 10,600sq.m dormitory, along with a canteen, medical room, self-study area, convenience stores, and relaxation area. The sports complex consists of a centre with an indoor swimming pool, a football ground, gym, and an outdoor sports area.
In order to gain admissions to VinUni, students go through a holistic admission process with an online application (including personal information, academic profiles, non-academic accomplishments, short answers, letter of recommends, etc.) and an in-person assessment (for shortlisted candidates only).
"VinUni will be built following the highest international standards for a university. Students will be able to study with professors and scientists from leading universities, institutes, and medical systems around the world," said vice chairwoman of Vingroup Le Mai Lan at VinUni’s ground-breaking ceremony on November 14.
"At VinUni, students will have the chance to experience the most advanced and latest educational technology, facilities, and laboratories. We believe VinUni will create a breakthrough and take Vietnamese higher education towards international standards,” she added.
VinUni is scheduled to be opened in 2020, specialising in business, technology, and healthcare science. Students will be able to gain admission by submitting an application essay and attending an admission interview.
VinUni’s mission is to educate and train individuals who are knowledgeable, capable, and passionate about contributing to improving themselves and societal conditions, inspiring the current and next generations, and making lasting positive impact on global development.
