State-run PetroVietnam, Vinacomin and Vinatex will have new chairpersons.

On May 5 the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) announced it would conduct a confidence vote for a new chairperson of Vinacomin. At present the group’s chairman is Tran Xuan Hoa who will retire on June 1. Hoa was elected to his position in early 2011 by the prime minister.

After the vote, the candidate will be submitted to the prime minister for approval.

A new chairperson for PetroVietnam is also being sought and will be decided based on a confidence vote, reported the MoIT, who said the desired candidate is already working at the group.

The group’s current chairman is Phung Dinh Thuc, who will also retire on June 1. Hoa was appointed in September 2011 by the prime minister.

Finally, Vinatex will choose a new chairperson via the same system who will replace current chairman Vu Duc Giang, also to retire on June 1.
