More than 120,700 foreign visitors came to Danang on a recent holiday |
The increase in the number of tourists coming to Danang was partly because of this year’s longer holiday (five days), a strong start to the summer tourism season and the 2019 Danang Beach Tourism Season, with many attractive entertainments.
In addition, this occasion coincided with the holiday seasonsof many countries around the world.
This is the first time after many years that the well-known Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) did not take place on April 30-May 1, but will run from June 1 to July 6, 2019 instead.
Instead, the city launched a series of activities which lasted for six days from April 26 to May 1 to open the 2019 Beach Tourism Season.

In addition to entertainment activities such as performances and hot air balloon rides, kite flying, sand sculpting, chess and swimming competitions, a paintings exhibition under the theme of Danang memory, this year's programme also featured diverse activities on the environment and plastic waste, such as the art community project The Wave made from plastic waste, Picking Up Garbage and Giving Love, bicycle parades, pedicabs, and electric cars for the protection of Danang’s sea environment, and the BareFoot Run, among others.
With the message about environmental protection and plastics reduction, local residents and visitors were encouraged to bring environmentally friendly items when visiting Son Tra Peninsula and local beaches.
