Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange’s (HoSE) VN-Index dropped 2.65 points, or 0.56 per cent, to 472.76 points. Trading volumes stood at 55.82 million shares, down 2.46 per cent with trading values reaching VND1.36 trillion ($68 million), shedding 4.20 per cent.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) liquidity sharply fell with trading volumes dipping 24.08 per cent to 30.94 million shares changing hands, valued 29.76 per cent lower at VND592.85 billion ($29.6 million). The benchmark HNX-Index closed at 111.19 points, down 0.03 points or 0.03 per cent.
Sai Gon Securities SSI and PetroVietnam Finance PVF slightly rose, yet Bao Viet Holding BVH hit the floor, along with fertiliser provider Dam Phu My DPM and Vincom VIC falling on HoSE made the bourse’s benchmark off.
The most actively trade stock is the real estate Intresco ITC 2.5 million units changing hands. Itaco ITA, Sacombank STB and SSI had more than two million shares traded each.
Meanwhile, among the 10 largest market-cap stocks on HNX, six fell, two were unchanged and just two advanced.
Kim Long Securities KLS outperformed the bourse in terms of trading volume with more than 2.88 million units traded.
Overall, 88 stocks was up (12 hit the ceiling), 121 down (10 hit the floor) and 71 unchanged on HoSE. On the HNX ,135 stocks climbed with nine hitting the ceiling, 134 falling with 10 hitting floor and 60 ended flat.
Foreigners today bought 3.91 million shares of 82 codes on HoSE, accounting for 10.28 per cent the market’s entire trading volume. Hoang Anh Gia Lai group HAG was purchased most with 467,220 shares, followed by CTG, PVD, REE and HPG. In terms of trading value, they were net buyers today with VND157.31 billion worth of buying and VND77.17 billion worth of selling.
On the HNX foreigners was net sellers buying 312,900 units of 21 codes and selling 389,800 units of 18 stocks, in which PVS, PHS, PVI, STL and PVC were purchased most and KLS, PVS, PVI, BVS, STL were sold out most.
