According to Booking.com’s Travel Predictions data for, 46 per cent of Vietnamese travellers are looking at a long domestic trip and 35 per cent want to take a long international trip, consisting of five or more nights this year.

The mountains remain irresistible for Vietnamese travellers looking to escape the summer heat, with 57 per cent stating that they would like to take a nature trip this year. 48 per cent said they would like a cultural experience, beach getaways are popular with 45 per cent, while city breaks are the first choice of 36 per cent.

Besides beaches, metropolitan destinations in the hills such as Dalat continue to be among the top choices for travellers seeking scenic landscapes, adventure activities, and a respite from the heat.

While domestic destinations continue to allure, Vietnamese holidaymakers are also exploring short and long-haul destinations within Asia and beyond. Bangkok’s proximity to Vietnam, coupled with its cultural contrasts and culinary delights, leads the list of most searched-for international destinations this summer. Other Asian destinations like Singapore, Tokyo, Seoul, and Kuala Lumpur are also high on the Vietnamese summer travel wish list.

Additionally, adventurous Vietnamese travellers have also set their sights on long-haul destinations, with Paris and London ranking in fourth and eighth on the list. The dynamic Australian metropolises of Sydney and Melbourne are also drawing significant interest.
