Highlights of Binh Duong Scientific Conference 2022

Themed on “The traditional inheritance of Binh Duong, a quarter of century - The achievements and prospects”, the conference consisted of many in-depth discussions on topics such as economy, society, culture, national defense, diplomacy, and security.

About 800 leaders and experts from all over Vietnam, including Nguyen Minh Triet - former Politburo member, former State President and former Secretary of Song Be Province Party Committee - attended the event.

The comprehensive event featured an exhibition (CONFEX) and field trips on the development achievements and future developments of Binh Duong province, in addition to the industrialisation, modernisation, as well as to welcome Industry 4.0, and create firm steps for the 2021-2025 period.

The conference was held at BCEC - the best place for hosting such significant event

The World Trade Centre Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC) and Hong Kong Trade Development Council have collaborated to introduce and attract SMEs to join the Online Sourcing Platform of WTC BDNC via the HKTDC sourcing marketplace.

WTC BDNC, the organiser of this event, played the role of PCO (Professional Convention Organiser) and PEO (Professional Exhibition Organiser) by managing the entire event process, including conference site operation, exhibition organising, and planning/management of field trip tours.

For this kind of a composite MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) event, it is critical that the organiser can not only manage the venue facility but also has professional event management and operation ability. WTC BDNC is running the MICE business while simultaneously performing these two essential functions.

WTC BDNC is gradually asserting its position in the MICE industry

BCEC, the venue for this event, proves the best place for successful hosting this significant event as it had facilities for various conferences and performances, including a 1,500-seat auditorium and meeting rooms.

In addition to BCEC, WTC EXPO (World Trade Centre Binh Duong New City EXPO), a professional exhibition facility with a scale of 22,000sq.m, is about to open next to BCEC early this year.

WTC EXPO is the first World Trade Centtr exhibition venue in Vietnam with a scale reaching 22,000sq.m for MICE events such as trade and public shows and provides world-class service as managed by the ASEAN MICE Standard.

Both facilities are managed by WTC BDNC’s specialised personnel and play a vital role in developing the MICE industry in Binh Duong.

WTC BDNC also provides comprehensive MICE service along with venue rental/management with a specialised system and capabilities, such as convention and exhibition organising, biz matching, and marketing support for event organisers using its international network.

As a member of the World Trade Centre Association, the WTC BDNC has a connection with the international network of over 314 WTCs in over 91 countries on five continents, with more than one million member companies.

In the past two years, 16 webinars communicating with about 7,000 domestic and foreign investors and industry officials and supporting hundreds of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were already successfully organised by WTC BDNC.

In addition, at the beginning of this year, WTC BDNC co-organised the K-CONTENT Festival with KOCCA (the Korea Creative Content Agency), and continues to expand its capacity as a content provider through international collaboration not only in the B2B field but also in the B2C cultural business.

Through such active cooperation with the outside, WTC BDNC plans to build a MICE cluster within the Southern Key Economic Zone (SKEZ) in Vietnam to materialise its inbound and outbound business strategies.

This is to promote the development of Vietnam's MICE industry and expand the scope of WTC BDNC by establishing an industrial cooperative network with major stakeholders related to the MICE industry.

In addition, as seen in cooperation with KOCCA, WTC BDNC is actively promoting cooperation with major overseas organisations. It has already launched an online joint exhibition with World Trade Centre Mumbai last year to promote MSMEs, Start-Ups, and Women Entrepreneurs, and through cooperation with Singapore Constella (Singapore Expo managing and exhibition organising company), it maintains a strategic partnership for the “Industry Transformation Asia-Pacific (ITAP) exhibition”.

This international network establishment is ultimately for WTC BDNC to serve as “the platform” for trade promotion of Binh Duong and Vietnamese companies.

WTC BDNC's move is expected to be accelerating from this year when the society would return to normal from COVID-19 pandemic.
