Vung Tau lighthouse is the second project under the "Lighthouse Protection Campaign” of Dulux |
The project is completed by AkzoNobel, the leading global paints and coatings company and the major producer of Dulux brand.
In this second project in Vietnam, AkzoNobel helped protect such an important beacon Dulux Weathershield®. The project of repainting Vung Tau lighthouse began in December 2018 and completed in January 2019. The premium exterior paint Dulux Weathershield® is a combination of innovative features that make it the most powerful coating to optimally protect the exterior surface of the lighthouse against the extreme weather conditions.
Among the most impressive features are anti-fading and anti UV protection thanks to colour lock technology, waterproofing from rain guard technology, anti-alkaline from Alkali Guard, double anti-moss from smart release technology and cooling down up to 5 celsius degrees from keep cool technology. Thus, it ensures an ultimate protection whatever weather conditions. White colour was chosen to restore the lighthouse’s original beauty.
Pamela Phua, general director of AkzoNobel Vietnam, said, “After Dai Lanh lighthouse project last year, we are honoured to accompany in the project in Vung Tau lighthouse, which is well-known as one of the most beautiful and oldest lighthouses in Vietnam. Dulux Weathershield® showed its effectiveness in protecting Dai Lanh lighthouse, so that the company believe that it would do the same in our second project, helping it resist the harshest weather conditions and sustain its beauty over time”.
On this occasion, Dulux also launches a video called “Lighthouse Keepers” to take the most authentic look at the job of those silent heroes. Only some hours after being introduced on Dulux’s Facebook Fanpage, this video has impressed users and gone viral with thousands of engagements.
“The story about silent keepers who are protecting lighthouse despite of various difficulties inspired us a lot. What they are targeting in working and are doing are also what we are pursuing to protect every Vietnamese house, including significant structures as lighthouses, against any harsh condition,” said Pamela Phua.
