Danang to implement two major traffic improvements in 2023

The central city of Danang has authorised two major traffic improvements at a cost of over $123 million that will begin construction next year.

According to Danang Department of Transport, the Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan highway construction project and the National Highway No.14B renovation and upgrade project will be initiated in 2023 and completed in 2025.

The portion of the Natioanl Highway No.14B through Danang from Tuy Loan to Quang Nam province is extremely narrow and prone to traffic accidents

The Hoa Lien-Tuy Loan section of the North-South Highway (the segment through Danang) has a total length of 11.5km and starting and ending points adjacent to the Hoa Lien intersection and Hoa Vang district. The overall cost of the whole route is around $89.5 million.

The second project is the renovation and improvement of National Highway 14B which runs through Danang from the Tuy Loan intersection to Quang Nam province. The total length of this project is approximately 7.5km, beginning at Km 24 + 633 (in Hoa Vang district) and ending at Km 32 + 185 (in Quang Nam province). The total investment exceeds $33.4 million.

According to Danang Department of Transport, both projects will connect the entire highway from Hue to Danang and Quang Ngai, creating a continuous arterial traffic network to reduce the load on the National Highway No.1 and contribute significantly to the economic and social growth of Thua Thien-Hue, Danang, and the central region.
