Malaysia-based Columbia Asia has given Vietnam’s healthcare sector a shot in the arm by opening a hospital in Binh Duong province.

The hospital, 30 kilometres from Ho Chi Minh City, is located near the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park I and residential property projects developed by Malaysia’s SP Setia Bhd and Singapore’s Guocoland.

“Binh Duong has an increasing population and so we are here to meet the demand for quality healthcare now and in the future. We will also strive to become the preferred healthcare provider for families, and to be on the medical panel of companies and insurance providers,” said Thai Tuong Tuong, general director of Columbia Hospital-Binh Duong.

“As a community hospital, we have some of the most advanced facilities to offer. For us, smaller is better - more attention, more focus and at less cost for our patients,” Tuong said.

Columbia Hospital-Binh Duong is the 22nd healthcare facility of Columbia Asia in the region and the third facility in Vietnam after the one in Ho Chi Minh City’s Gia Dinh. The group also has an international clinic in the southern hub’s District 1.

Columbia Hospital-Binh Duong will focus on general surgery, internal medicine, orthopedics, pediatrics, gastroenterology, anesthesiology, radiology, obstetrics and gynecology as well as ear, nose and throat.

The hospital has a capacity of 100 beds with 34 medical consultants and is equipped with three operating rooms, a 10-cot nursery, four delivery suites and seven emergency bays. On top of that, it offers ambulatory, dialysis, endoscopy and physiotherapy services.
