On May 20, Vo Van Minh, Chairman of Binh Duong People's Committee, chaired a meeting to hear reports about the project.

According to Becamex IDC, which is responsible for the project, Binh Duong IT Park will become a sci-tech and innovation centre. It will feature modern sci-tech and IT industrial parks in line with international standards to lure both domestic and foreign investments.

The park will prioritise projects in software development, IT and telecommunications services, research and development, training and development of IT human resources, and green industries.

Before submitting the project to Binh Duong People's Committee for approval, Chairman Minh requested relevant authorities and Becamex IDC to coordinate in supplementing, and completing the draft, which should closely follow the general plan for the province's development strategy.

According to the draft plan for Binh Duong, the province will focus on three growth pillars for its socioeconomic development: industry, services, and eco-smart urban areas.

By 2050, Binh Duong will be a smart city, a modern industrial centre, and a leading quality service centre in Asia, with a civilised, livable, prosperous, and sustainable environment. Binh Duong is also aiming to be at the forefront of completing the country's net-zero emissions goal by 2050.
