During her visit, the RoK President will have a meeting with Vietnamese counterpart Truong Tan Sang on September 9.
Park is also scheduled to meet with other top Vietnamese leaders, including Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
Her discussions in Vietnam will be focused on how to reach a mutually beneficial free trade agreement and strengthen cooperation in nuclear power and industrial technology.
She will also center on development aid projects, such as providing support for a science and technology institute in Vietnam.
President Park’s decision to visit Vietnam reflects the importance she attaches to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the office said.
Following her visits to the US in May and China last June, her visit to Vietnam will be the President’s third overseas trip since taking office in early February.
Vietnam and the RoK established diplomatic relations on December 22, 1992.
