Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Da Lat experience tourism boost

Nha Trang, Phan Thiet and Da Lat have attracted many tourists for the Tet holidays.

Nha Trang is expected to receive about 153,474 visitors including 35,324 foreign tourists from January 31 to February 5, according to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa Province.

Authorities asked hotels to keep steady room rates during the season. Many rates rose 50 percent. Price of seafood in the area increased 10 percent.

Tourist areas such as Yang Bay, Thach Lam Stream, Vinpearl, Long Phu, Hoa Lan Stream, and Dao Khi are experiencing an increase in visitors.

Tourist areas in Da Lat City also experienced an increase in visitors. These places include Love Valley, Datanla Fall, King Bao Dai’s palace, Dreaming Hill and Prenn Fall.

The estimated number of tourists to Phan Thiet is about 68,800, with 28,200 of them foreign tourists, from January 29 to February 5, according to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan Province.

These tourism areas included Tet celebrations such as kylin and dragon dance performances, food fairs, banh chung and dune climbing competitions.

Beaches were overcrowded with tourists.  This includes Hon Rom, Mui Ne, Tien Thanh, Sand Hill, Ta Cu Mountain, Thay Thim Temple, Phat Quang and Ong and Hang Pagodas.

Hotel rates at these places increased 5 percent and seafood prices increased 200 percent.
