WB finances construction of Trung Son power plant

The State Bank of Vietnam and the World Bank on June 28 signed an agreement on loans to build the Trung Son hydroelectric power plant in the central province of Thanh Hoa.

Under the agreement, the WB will provide $330 million to help build the plant which has a total investment of nearly $412 million. The remaining funding will come from the State budget.

The Trung Son hydroelectric power plant has a designed capacity of 260 megawatt. It will be built on the Ma river in Quan Hoa district of Thanh Hoa province.

The project will be carried out from 2011-2017.
