NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has reiterated Vietnam’s policy of opening the door to foreign companies, including those from the Republic of Korea, to do business in the country.

Hung told Kumho Asiana and Lotte executives at a reception in Seoul on July 23 that leading RoK economic groups, including Kumho Asiana and Lotte, have made a significant contribution to strengthening the strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and the RoK.

He expressed hope that Kumho Asiana and Lotte will continue expanding their investment in Vietnam’s aviation, transport, tyre manufacturing, construction, and services industries, while paying attention to human resource training and technology transfer to their Vietnamese counterparts.

The National Assembly and Government of Vietnam will try to create a sound business environment for RoK companies to operate in the country, said Hung.

He thanked the two groups for having been involved in various social and cultural programmes in Vietnam, including establishing a scholarship fund and building compassionate houses for needy people in Vietnam, with a total cost of up to millions of US dollars.

Kumho Asiana Chairman Park Sam-ku and Lotte CEO Shin Dong-bin hailed Vietnam’s open-door policy and vowed to speed up their investment projects on schedule.

They assured Hung that the two groups will increase their investment in Vietnam, and proposed that the National Assembly and government of Vietnam offer more incentives to businesses.

NA Chairman Hung, who is on an official visit to Seoul, held talks with his RoK counterpart Kang Chang-hee and met with Prime Minister Chung Hong-won on July 22.

He also met with representatives of the Korea Telecom and Samsung Electronics to encourage their investmentin Vietnam.
