Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, deputy chairwoman of the National Assembly, is slated to join a senior leadership program at Harvard University during the visit.
The schedule was announced at a press conference in Hanoi on Thursday afternoon by Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Hai Binh.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the U.S.
The two countries restored their ties in 1995, twenty years after the end of the war in Vietnam.
According to the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry, Ngan will have talks with U.S. experts and scholars about the social and economic policies of Vietnam and the reform of Vietnamese laws and justice.
The U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Partnership was set up in 2013 during the visit of Vietnamese State President Truong Tan Sang to Washington, D.C.
It serves as an overarching framework for advancing the two countries’ bilateral relationship.
