The ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Hanoi Agriculture Fair 2021 |
The fair is a continuation of the implementation of an MoU signed earlier by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, Hanoi People’s Committee, and AEON on promoting trade in Vietnamese goods via the Japanese group’s malls to achieve the goal.
Held by theHanoi Center for Investment, Trade, and Tourism Promotion (HPA) and AEON Vietnam, the Hanoi Agriculture Fair 2021 aims to help businesses introduce and promote their farm produce and seek opportunities to boost cooperation and expand the market, while approaching the modern retail sale and distribution system of AEON.
Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, deputy head of the HPA, delivering a speech at the opening ceremony |
Addressing the event, Nguyen Thi Mai Anh, deputy head of the HPA, said, “Hanoi Agriculture Fair 2021 is an importation trade promotion programme affirming a close cooperation between Hanoi and AEON Group in supporting local suppliers to introduce and promote their goods and products, as well as connecting them with the AEON distribution network in Vietnam and globally, thus contributing to recover production and business activities.”
Satoshi Nishikawa, representative of AEON Vietnam in the north, said, "We at AEON are working to promote the sales of Vietnamese and local products and to promote exports to Japan. We have several MOUs with the Vietnamese government, and transactions are increasing dramatically each year. We hope that this Hanoi Agriculture Fair will promote these efforts and improve the lives of everyone in Hanoi and the region."
"This year, the fourth wave of COVID-19 has severely damaged our lives and our economic activities. Next year will be a year in which we will recover the damage and draw dramatic growth again. AEON would like to contribute to further economic development by utilising the good relations between Vietnam and Japan and multilateral efforts such as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) in East Asia," he added.
The fair will last till December 12 at AEON MALL Long Bien, featuring about 50 booths introducing the regional specialties of Hanoi and 10 other cities and provinces, including Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Ha Nam, Lam Dong, Ha Giang, Hai Duong, Lang Son, Hung Yen, Nonh Binh, and Cao Bang.
The fair is scheduled to open at AEON MALL Hadong on December 16-19.
Since 2016, HPA and AEON have carried out many trade promotion activities with Vietnamese companies, helping Vietnamese businesses export their farm produce to the Japanese market via AEON malls.
