Grant Thornton Vietnam (GTV) has recently organised two tax seminars in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on March 14-15, 2018 to share with clients and non-client businesses practical case studies and their experiences during the application of the new regulations on Value Added Tax (VAT) refund (Decree No.100/2016/ND-CP and Circular No.130/2016/TT-BTC) effective from July 1, 2016.
The current VAT refund covers newly-established business for investment projects, business with new investment projects, business exporting goods and services, and others, namely mergers & acquisitions, consolidation, dissolution, and projects funded by non-refundable official development assistance (ODA).

GTV experts provided attendees with important compliance notes for 2017 tax finalisation purposes based on the newly-issued tax regulations as well as amendments effective since the year of 2017. Among them, GTV tax experts offered recommendations for compliance in transfer pricing following the issuance of Decree No.20/2017/ND-CP.
In both seminars, GTV invited Nguyen Thi Cuc, chairwoman of VTCA, as guest of honour to update on the new tax policies effective from 2018, particularly Decree No.146/2017/ND-CP, the current tax environment, and predicted regulatory changes.
In the last session of the seminars, GTV experts and Nguyen Thi Cuc responded to attendees’ queries regarding their tax situation.

GTV hosts bi-annual tax seminars in March or August every year in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In addition to these regular bi-annual tax seminars, GTV also organises tax seminars at industrial parks, including Long Hau, and seminars for Japanese enterprises.
